The work of the league against blasphemy and swearing

The work of the league against blasphemy and swearing "Bond tegen het vloeken" began in Holland in 1917, when a group of christians, concerned about blasphemy and swearing in society, decided to combat this sinful trend with the teaching of the Bible.

The objects of the "Bond tegen het vloeken" are to glorify God and edify the people of God by campaigning against blasphemy, swearing and abusive language, which is so prevalent in our modern society, and positively to encourage the use of wholesome speech in every area of life.

The objects as stated above are pursued by various activities: Poster campaigns, advertisements in newspapers and magazines, public protests against blasphemy and swearing via the massmedia (radio, television and press) and distributing relevant literature. The display of posters, which has proved very succesful, is mainly concentrated on railway-stations and busstops.

The organisation is supported by approximately 30.000 donors. They pay a yearly fee of € 10,00 or more, enabling the organisation to finance its activities.
